Stephanie Funkhouser

Stephanie is the Weekend Sports Anchor/Reporter at FOX 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She was raised outside of Chicago, Illinois, where she spent her childhood playing soccer, basketball, and softball. Staying in the Midwest to attend the University of Michigan, she found her passion for sports broadcasting, majoring in Sport Management and minoring in Spanish.

During her college years she was involved in the student-run TV station, WOLV-TV, for four years, working as a host and crew member of Sportsnite. She was also a sideline reporter and crew member for the Big Ten Network Student U Crew. During her summers, she interned at NBC5 Chicago in the Sports Department and in the newsroom of SportsNet New York. She spent one semester studying in Seville, Spain.

In her senior year of college, Stephanie started working as a reporter for the State Champs High School Sports Show on Fox Sports Detroit and continued her work for State Champs as a co-host after college. Stephanie has done sideline reporting for USSSA baseball on, filled-in as a host for the Detroit Red Wings, been a fill-in anchor for Detroit Sports News on CBS62, a freelance sideline reporter for the Big Ten Network, and a sideline reporter for Oakland University basketball on ESPN3. 

In October 2016, Stephanie accepted a job in Grand Rapids, Michigan as a Sports Anchor/Reporter for WXMI-TV, FOX 17. When she isn't in studio or on assignment, Stephanie can be found following her love for fashion, food, fitness and travel. Make sure to check out her blog for more!
